It is with sadness to learn this. COSATU in NW is in a position to assist on this matter. This is closing a feeder to hospital, while millions people lay in hospital beds waiting long hours before been assisted. This must be condermed with strongest way to speedly resolve this matter, failing which support from communties,YCL in the province to march to the office of the MEC. We cannot continue to close institutions that assist the community.

This comes after an avalanche of pressing issues confronted by nurse students have been left unresolved by the MEC. Students have since June 08, 2010 boycotted classes. Issues in question in this college include the retrospective payment of housing allowance, Uniform allowance/Uniform, Residences that are in a state of mess and the dragging case of the suspended principal. DENOSA under the leadership of its federation COSATU held a meeting with the MEC in an attempt to logically resolve these issues on June 23, 2010. The MEC in that meeting promised to come back to labour with a wayfoward. In the middle of that process she arrogantly closes down the college after the students correctly refused to meet with her without representation from labour today. We strongly condemn the arrogance demonstrated by the MEC and we have observed with disgust her tactics of alienating DENOSA on decision- making engagements in the province. The MEC has failed to meet DENOSA and discuss issues since she took office. DENOSA calls on the MEC to reverse her decision go back to the round table and resolve these issues urgently. *End* * * *Issued by:* *Asanda Fongqo* *DENOSA Communications Manager* *Tel 012 343 2315* *Cell 079 875 2663* * * *For more information contact DENOSA North West Provincial Secretary Oscar Phaka 018 392 6188 or on 082 411 3545* * * <http://www.denosa.org.za/> -- You are subscribed.
