*NUMSA WESTERN CAPE REGIONAL SECRETARY TO ADDRESS MOTOR WORKERS MARCH IN
CAPE TOWN*

*08 August 2010*

NUMSA Western Cape Regional Secretary Cde *FRED PETERSON*, will be
addressing a protest march of motor workers in Cape Town tomorrow *Monday 09
August 2010*.

The significance of the protest march coincides with the national women’s
day – 09 August 2010 – a day in which we celebrate the heroic struggles
waged by working class and poor women of our country during the 1950’s to
render apartheid capitalism ungovernable. They is no better way to honour
and remember the struggles waged by working class and poor women than a
protest march to the capitalist bosses to demand a living wage for workers,
including women.

It is mostly working class and poor women that are the worse victims of the
brutal capitalist system through meager wages, exploitation and unpaid
labour. We call on the working class and poor communities in the Western
Cape to join en masse this protest march as part of building a strong
progressive women’s movement rooted on popular struggles faced by women of
our country in the current epoch of our revolution and the struggle for
socialism.

The workers will converge at *PARROW STATION* at 10H00am and march to RMI
House, 195 Picton Street, Parrow, Cape Town, *WHERE* a Memorandum of Demands
will be handed-over at 13H00.

Members of the media are hereby invited to attend and report.
