CU Venue and Voting District Branches No CU tonight Comrades, we still have no venue, so there is no CU “contact session” in Johannesburg this evening. We may be able to meet next week, if our venue becomes available again. But, in any case, we must now come to terms with major changes in the way the SACP is to be organised, and make corresponding plans as to how the Communist University can be actualised as live study circles, in the new circumstances. Big changes coming to the SACP The Johannesburg Central Branch is meeting on Sunday. A major item on the agenda will be the changeover to Voting District Branches. Every SACP Branch is required to reconstitute itself as one or several Voting District branches. (The illustration above is a typical Voting District map, taken from the IEC web site). The Johannesburg Central Branch has been the home of the Communist University since the CU's inception in 2003, but now the CU will have to propagate itself among the new VD branches all over the city. Please, if you are part of Johannesburg Central, do come to the BGM on Sunday so that we can discuss these things and make plans. Details are as follows:
