SACP NORTH WEST STATEMENT CONCERNING THE CONDUCT OF THE PTT REGARDING CORRUPTION Monday, 16 August 2010
The South African Communist Party (SACP) in the North West province Calls on the African National Congress (ANC) national leadership to ignore the call made by the Provincial Task Team to recall the MEC of Sports, Arts and culture, Comrade Grace Bothman Pampiri. As the SACP in the province we regard this call to be part of the project to destroy the Communist Party and all its cadres who are deployed by the ANC/Alliance led government. It is very interesting as to the manner in which the PTT wants the issues of that department to be dealt with. It is further in our view that Comrade Grace is being dealt with in that manner precisely because of her selfless opposition to corruption both in her department and in the Provincial government in general as an SACP cadre. Without trying to make early and unnecessary pre-empted decisions, we call on the Premier of the province to soberly apply her political leadership and investigate all the allegations made regarding the department, failure which will lead into a serious political warfare as declared consciously by the Sakie Mafokeng led factional leadership or otherwise she should consider resigning from the premiership mainly for having failed to provide the expected leadership. We are without any fear or doubt calling on the PTT to develop a clear strategic process of recalling the entire Communist Party in the province- as we normally say, an attack on the SACP leadership is an attack on the SACP unless otherwise. This recalling is in our view factional and reactionary, it is factionalist because when the department of education suspended Mweli, the premier of the province did nothing with the issue – and yet when the MEC suspended Sam Mokaila the premier went in public through the media and rejected the suspension and thrown support to Sam Mokaila, ironically so. And it is being reactionary in the other hand in that, when Sam Mokaila was acting as an HOD on Sports, arts and culture – the premier and Sam Mokaila, never reported any corruption against the MEC until when the MEC acted on Sam Mokaila, the premier misleading us and the public now wants to act against the MEC. On the ANC side, when Cde Grace reported to the ANC that the premier did not communicate well with her, Sakie Mofokeng dismissed the report –but now Sakie is responding to the premier having failed to listen to issues of concern raised by Comrade Grace Pampiri . In conclusion, it is clear that they issue here is to deal with the Communist Party due to it’s unwavering war against corruption at all cost. Mofokeng and his political cronies are doing work for their bosses who are determined to defend corruption attained tenders. We would like to further remind the ANC in this province that when Comrade Grace was an MMC of finance in Matlosane, the reason for her to be removed was because of her refusal to resign from the Communist Party as approached when she was in Matlosane, therefore – she was then removed from the Matlosane as the MMC of finance.
