*YCLSA Media Release, 24 August 2010* *DA utterances ridiculous *The Young Communist League of South Africa (UFasimba) denounces baseless and highly opportunistic insinuations made by the DA on Comrade Blade Nzimande. This theatrical grand standing by the DA comes as no surprise as these are the kind of tactics expected from a party flooded with right wing dinosaurs, still hell-bent on affirming the apartheid status quo.
The Democratic Alliance should swiftly reconcile itself with the fact that the mandate of the current government is that of serving the majority of our people. The education system in our country has perpetually served a minority group and continues to do so, to the detriment of our black majority.
Education has been a tool to oppress and psychologically paralyse black people in the past; the DA clearly believes that the Bantu education system should come back. This unfortunately will never happen and we affirm our support to Cde. Blade Nzimande as the Minister of higher education and that he continues to ensure that education transforms and access to quality education is no longer a privilege to the majority of young people in disadvantaged communities. Transformation in the education system includes, the curriculum, the literature, including African languages (which have been seen as inferior by the DA constituency), advocating progressive ideologies which do not advance the exploitation of the working class and the poor.
The DA continues to expose its right wing agenda and the inability to transform and adapt to a non-racial society. We advise that they concentrate on their already doomed marriage of convenience with the ID better known as "DaLille" and leave issues of national importance to the ANC led government.
