Hey comrade Luzuku u are raising not only important but a relevant issue in our alliance. My view drawing partly from Lenin is that the working class leaders and their constituencies are not automatically revolutionary which is why you need professional revolutionaries or communists to lead them. For me Cosatu and its unions focus mainly on shop floor issues the difference is that they articulate them in the context of socio-economic situation that affect workers daily.
But the other important issue which we must continue to debate and put it to bed is that the ANC as an organization is the strategic political centre of power. Power lies with organizations so the alliance is not an organization in actual fact it is the the motley crowd just to borrow from Marx. We may want to justify the existence of the alliance and its relevance as much as we can and for so long as we can however the ANC remains a bourgeoisie organization we need to talk about is transforming the ANC in the ANC and improve the workings of the alliance and stop crying fowl. Reconfiguration for instance proves not to be successful so lets call for its reviewal and that is the starting point. But my view is that the manner in which the ANC SG puts it, its as if COSATU is a training school for the ANC and Cabinet.
