Cde Bongo
May you please assist this forum why is incorrect for certain section of us
to share this sentiment, Indeed the alliance is the most appropriate
vehicle to drive NDR & achieve its objectives. It is clear we need each
other in this course of delivering political, social & economic emancipation
to our people.
However the current state suggest that COSATU,SACP need the ANC but the ANC
does not.Critical issue is the state power, which is crucial in delivering
emancipation of our people as described above. We should not beat by the
bush,we cannot be an alliance & the same alliance not be the strategic
political centre. Why ANC alone should take such strategic & important
decisions & expect the dirty work of campaigning to be done together. What
is ANC thinking, that they are clever enough to decide for its alliance
partners,if the issue is numbers COSATU has two million plus.
We know agreements taken at alliance summit were over & over again reduced
to jokes & are not binding. The ANC being the leader of the alliance is not
an issue anyone can lead the alliance, critical issue is can we entrust the
alliance with power & responsibliity to be strategic political centre not
one partner.Or else the alliance will remain white-elephant which its duty
to help petty bourgeosies in the ANC & their friends[imperialists] to rule
this country for a longtime, indeed to the loss & detriment of aspirations of
communists,workers & the poor.
I am still calling upon Cde Bongo to sure cause why we should not share this
sentiment in the face of what is happening. Take note of this- ANC policies
& programmes has landed us where we are now.COSATU General Secretary Cde
Vavi in his input to the Barometer SA debate on Growth plan said
-Inequality is now geater than in any coun
try in the world & still growing,
-Nearly two million families still live in shacks,
-The workers share of national income was 56% in 1995 but by 2009 had
declined to 51%,
-50% of South Africans live on 8% of national income,
-Meanwhile the country 's 20 richest men enjoyed a 45% increase in
wealth in 2010 & number of billionaires has doubled from 16 2009 to 31.
The above are some of the realities a communist & a revolutionary cannot
live side by side with.
