SACP NORTH WEST PROVINCIAL PRESS STATEMENT FOLLOWING ITS AUGMENTED
PROVINCIAL EXCUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING
Saturday, 19 March 2011

The South African Communist Party (SACP) in the North West province
convened in its second PEC meeting in 2011.
This meeting convened after a range of very important political events
that unfolded in our province – thus the meeting dealt with the
following issues:
1. Reflections and lessons emanating from the African National
Congress (ANC) provincial conference that took place early this year.
2. Reports coming from the Central Committee meeting of the SACP and
the Alliance summit
3. Elections: structures and campaigns therefore
4. Provincial list processes: lessons and the role played by the SACP
districts in the province

1. In terms of the ANC provincial conference the SACP welcomed the
elected leadership and the resolutions taken there from especially the
re-affirmation of the ANC and the entire alliance with regard to the
unity and cohesion of the movement.

The Provincial conference of the ANC affirmed its commitment to the
strategy and tactics document of the ANC that maintained that the ANC
should at all levels be bias to the poor and the working class as the
main motive forces of the National Democratic Revolution (NDR).

The SACP in the North West resolved to support the ANC elected
leadership and will continue to do that without flinching a muscle,
however, it warned that it will never support corrupt elements whose
participation in the ANC is mainly about looting the state and the
public resources.
Conscious of the existence of factions and Un – ANC tendencies the
SACP resolved to defend our movement which is led by the ANC – in
ensuring this, we resolved to disorganise these tendencies without
fear or favour.

2. The SACP in the North West province declared to support more than
100% decisions taken by the CC on a range of issues including to
instil discipline in all its cadres irrespective of the so-called
seniority. It is in our view that the Central Committee took decisions
consistent with our conference resolutions and constitution.
On the Alliance summit the SACP N west agreed that indeed the ANC is
equally committed in building the Alliance and ensuring that it
continue to deepen the NDR thus the summit dealt with the Alliance
program of Action that will seek to operate within the context of our
unity action not in a boardroom.

3. The SACP in the North West province committed itself in making sure
that all its structures from the provincial leadership to branches
will have to develop program in which the focus will be to ensure the
overwhelming victory of the ANC in the coming elections – in line with
this the SACP received a report in which it was indicated that the
SACP, COSATU and SANCO are part of the election process and the
structures thereof.
4. Accordingly, districts of the SACP have participated in the list
processes in which a number of SACP cadres have equally been nominated
by both ANC structures and their respective communities, in which case
as the SACP we are proud of the confidence showed to the Party and its
cadres.
