*ANC STATEMENT ON THE DEATH OF MAMA ALBERTINA SISULU*
The African National Congress (ANC) in the KwaZulu Natal North Coast Region
has learned with profound sadness of the passing away of Mama Albertina
Sisulu. A life-long South African compatriot, a tried and tested leader of
the democratic movement. As part of the glorious ANC, we have lost a
grandmother and an inspirational teacher for us all. The nation has suffered
a great loss.
We call on all people of our region to learn from her exemplary leadership
and selflessness. We should all seek to act as she could have acted. Unite
those we find ourselves amongst and guide them towards working for a united,
non-racial, non-sexist, and democratic South Africa in which the people as a
whole shall govern and all shall enjoy equal rights.
As we begin the ANC reign in the uThungulu District Municipality we
are to ensure
that all 99 wards are serviced to the full satisfaction of the voter in an
effort to demonstrate to all that Mama Albertina Nontsikelelo Sisulu’s fight
for women emancipation was a course worth waging. In-line with her legacy,
as ANC, we have deployed a woman cadre to lead the team that will bring
development of the uThungulu District Municipal area.
The Regional Memorial Service for Mama Sisulu is planned as follows:

Nonkululeko. We dip our revolutionary banner in honour of the great mother
of the national democratic revolution. Long live the spirit of Mama
Albertina Sisulu. Rest in peace MaSisulu.
