SACP NW HELD IT`S PEC MEETING.
Thursday, July 21, 2011
TH SOUTH AFRICAN COMMUNIST PARTY (SACP) in the North West Province
held its first Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) meeting on Sunday,
17 July 2011.
The meeting dealt with a range of issues, ranging from political
report, District Congresses and Provincial Congress, Election report,
list Committee Process etc.
Members of the SACP PEC openly and comradely raised issues in a manner
that helped us to develop a clear provincial strategy to enhance our
political and organizational engagement.
In the political report the PEC dealt decisively with issues relating
on the Alliance and the challenges facing us collectively and
separately, comrades, dealt with the issue of deployment which has led
to the current political state which is not in line with the unity and
cohesion intentions of the entire movement.
The PEC spent time on the issue of corruption in which we re-affirm
our stand of fighting corruption at all cost and time we further noted
the ongoing corruption in the province and certain municipalities.

NATIONALISATION

The SACP POSITION ON NATIONALISATION HAS NOT CHANGED, the SACP view
the views pronounced by the ANC provincial secretary as based on
procurecument, and that procurement capacity by mining in the NW
therefore mining does not and cannot benefit the people of the
province , on the SACP procurement should be a reason for
nationalizing mines, because procurement does not benefit the people
as a whole it only benefited tender preneurs and the elit.

So nationalization should not be divorced from the discussion on the
new growth path and the industrial strategy. In our understanding we
regard nationalisation as a building block towards Socialism, in the
current discussion however, the SACP is warning that because of the
global economic recession and its impact on investments,
nationalisation unwittingly result in bailing out investors whose
investments might have been affected by the global financial crises.

As the SACP we are also ideological nationalisation is not inherently
progressive, and therefore issue of class character and class
interests is essential for the SACP to engage on, as the SACP we
reject the view by the ANC that t nationalisation could be reduced to
procurements, because procurements have not benefitted the poor and
the working class in the province.

As the SACP we welcome the decision by the ANC call to the alliance
partners to participate on the ANC sub committees including governance
committee and the deployment committee, this on its own has to be
balanced by the need for an alliance program and the alliance
structures meeting in the province, we call for the ANC to ensure
co-ordination of the program in the province.

As the SACP we are certainly convinced that nationalisation cannot be
about bailing other capitalists and tender-preneurs.
The SACP will in the coming few weeks call for a bi-lateral meeting
with the ANC so that we could ensure that the Alliance is united and
continue to advance the NDR in the province.
As the SACP in the North West Province we wish DR N.R Mandela a better
and revolutionary 93rd birthday and hoping all communists will further
implement its campaign of “know your neighborhood campaign” in more
than 67 minutes.
