Maqabane
Yet again we are denying ourselves and other in this forum an opportunity to
get a clear understanding of this Dalai Lama issue.

I think the issue here is not SACP or the Allaance, this is about our country
consistancy in as far as its foriegn policy. Lately we have been going with the
wind without a clear stand point and decisiveness on international
relations issues. Our foreign policy has been found wanting in a number of
times, Dalai Lama, Libya, Zimbabwe, Swaziland to mention just a few.
After all these instances there questions that come to my mind are as follows:

Do we realy have a foreign policy that the very same International Relations
Minister and his officials understand? Do we as a country know exactly where do
we stand in issues related to above mentioned countries and other countries of
similar nature?
What kind of country do we realy want to be, do we want to stand on our own and
pronounce on our own policies as a sovereign country or do we want to dance to
someone else's tune?
Who are we realy and what do we stand for and do we realy practice what we
preach?

I think those are issues that we need to discuss rather than continue to throw
insults at the elders and each other, that is not the level off intellect one
would expect from a forum of this nature. We have seen people insulting elders
and others and look where it got them. We need to discuss issues off national
interest linking them with the political and economical state of affairs and
ideologies we believe in, not forgetting a refference to the history.

Masixoxeni Maqabane singathukani.

Comrade Moses ka Moyo, newspaper editor, you re-appear with a new address, but
your disinforming habits have not changed.

If you have information that the government "pronounced a refusal" of a visa
for the Dalai Lama, please show it. What we have so far is only that the Dalai
Lama withdrew his application for a visa.

Although "the ANC" is not a party in this matter, it has been furiously
denounced by Bishop Tutu. "The ANC" includes me and I presume you as well. What
did we do? We don't issue visas.

The SACP is also not a party in this matter, but we can note that the same
Bishop Tutu, like the Dalai Lama, is a lifetime anti-communist.

I dare say that Tutu's real problem with the ANC is that it is allied to the
SACP.

Tutu's desire to ostracise the communists does not look like it is going to be
satisfied in his lifetime and I personally think that is why Tutu is so crazy
with anger on his 80th birthday.

Tutu is not, like Abraham was when he died, "satisfied with life". It is not a
pretty sight.

I don't think, as Malesela Maleka once said, that the SACP (or the YCL for that
matter) needs to make a statement every time a fly passes.

If it does issue a statement in this case, then it might like to mention how
many wars that the bogus holy-man Dalai has blessed. The Afghanistan war is
just fine with him. The Iraq war was great from his point of view. I suppose
from what Tutu was saying, that they are both loving the Libyan war of
recolonisation, too. Probably they have a few more war-blessings up the sleeves
of their clerical robes.

Humbugs!
