POPCRU Mpumalanga adjures Workers to swell the ranks of the ANC
POPCRU Mpumalanga Province held its Provincial Congress at Ermelo Inn in Emelo
on the 29th –30th of September 2011, under the theme. “21 years of
Consolidating the Working Class Power within the Criminal Justice”.
The leadership of the province from SANCO, ANC, SACP, and COSATU blessed the
Congress.And other notable speakers was the Regional Chairperson of the ANC in
Gert Sibande District, who is the also the M.E.C of Safety, Security and
Liaison.
Amongst others, the Congress resolved on the following matters:
Ø FTSS must be educated in labour relation issues through Bursary Scheme.
Ø To convene a Crime Summit to deal with all issues of Traffic, DCS, Police,
and crime in general in the society.
Ø swelling of ranks of the ANC is somewhat unachievable as a result of section
46 of the Police Act which restrict Police to participate in Politics.
Ø All locals to participate in the Campaign to barn Labour Brokers.
Ø Centralise singing of Dubula-Ibhunu song –appropriateness and singing of the
song at relevant gatherings.
Ø Continue to hold Marches and Blockades in support of people of Swaziland,
and .
Ø Prioritize on the tackling of Police killing.
The Congress elected the following Leadership for the incoming four years:

* Provincial Secretary -Cde Sipho Nkambule
* P. Deputy Secretary -Cde R.E Shabangu
* Provincial Treasurer -Cde Evelyn Mbonani
