*Suspension of BNF members *
The President of the Botswana National Front (BNF) has exercised the
powers vested in him under the party Constitution to suspend the
following comrades:
1. Akanyang Magama - Secretary General
2. Harry Mothei - Chairman
3. Nono Kgafela-Mokoka - Deputy Secretary General
4. Maemo Bantsi - Secretary for Labour Affairs
The suspensions are a result of continued disregard of the Party
Resolutions by these Comrades.
After numerous failed attempts by various formal and informal structures
of the Party to engage with the Executive, the President was left with
no choice but to suspend the comrades to ensure order and discipline in
the party and avert the chaos into which the Party was being plunged.
The President has also appointed a three person Commission to
investigate, among other things, the conduct of the above comrades and
make appropriate recommendations to the Party. The Commission is made up
of the following Comrades:
1. Cde Oteng Motlhala - Chairperson
2. Cde Joba Nnnoi - Secretary
3. Cde Henry Kgame - Member
