YCLSA Limpopo Press Statement December 5, 2012
YCL STATEMENT ON THE RECENT SHAMEFUL POLITICAL DEVELOPMENTS The Young Communist league of South Africa [uFasimba] in Limpopo Province would like to express itself on the recent shameful political developments in our province, in particular on the designed failure to convene a Provincial General Council [PGC] of the ANC. We, the YCLSA, are of a considered view that the ccollapse of the PGC was engineered deliberately at 78 Biccard Street, Frans Mohlala House (Provincial Head quarters of the ANC). The supposed leadership of the ANC at Frans Mohlala house committed a worst mistake that not even a leader of a stockvel could commit that of pronouncing ahead of the branches, and pronouncing shockingly against the popular views of the branches ‘’which are commonly known as the basic unit of the organisation’’ . Surely had the PGC took place, the leadership of the ANC was going to face high level of embarrassment when branches speak in one language and voicing their support for President Zuma and Secretary Mantashe. This was not only going to humiliate the supposed leadership of the ANC, but also an indication that the current provincial leadership does not enjoy popular support of the people of this province, and in particular members of the ANC and therefore they have lost legitimacy and do not inspire confidence to the our people. The principle of democracy has since lost its meaning in the corridors of Frans Mahlala House. The engineered collapse was intended deliberately to save them from this humiliating embarrassment of forcing to lead against the will of the people and members of the ANC, only to serve their pockets and jackets, it is unfortunate that they will only fall on their own sword. Embarrassingly shying away from the self created embarrassment, the chairperson of the ANC embarked on an unknown official journey to Korea abandoning the organisation that deployed him, we see this as the highest level of irresponsibility on the part of the chairperson of the ANC in the Province. We are disturbed by the fact that on several occasions the legislature has been failing to sit and hardly form a quorum. Like we have said it before, we want to say it now that the ANC is leaderless and when the ANC is leaderless our people are leaderless and no services will be provided and as consequence of that, the price we cannot afford paying is that of neglecting the aspirations and interest of our people like what Cassel Mathale is doing. But we want to send him a message “you are on a jelly uninterrupted road to your total demise” As the YCLSA in Limpopo, we are politically disturbed by perpetual unrevolutionary and unANC, demagoguery conduct of the Provincial leadership of the ANCYL, who always made derogatory statements, insults and attack on the sitting President of ANC Cde Jacob Zuma and the Secretary General Cde Gwede Mantashe. This reactionary conduct is getting blessings from the supposed leadership of the ANC in the Province because they are unable condemned his unruly behavior in publicly as a way of instilling discipline in the organization but rather remains mum. As the YCLSA, We are making a clarion political call to all branches, and structures of the ANC to adhere to organizational principles and discipline because the supposed leadership of this province is failing to lead, and reduced the constitutional meeting of the ANC in particular the PGC into a battlefield to fight. The lack of discipline, morals and political consciousness amongst this ANC leadership in the province has deteriorated to an extend of pushing away legitimate conference delegates from exercising their democratic rights and being replaced by group of friends who will not opposed to their pronounced leadership preference to Mangaung. The Rule 25 (1) a of the ANC Constitution provides that ‘’All members, without any exception, must abide by the Constitution of the ANC, Rules, Regulations, Policies, Standing, Orders and Codes, as adopted from time to time in terms of the constitution’’. We are very convinced that the Supposed leadership of the ANC in the Province is not instilling discipline to the members and unto themselves because of their condonation to factions, and disruptions of BGMs, and the recent PGC. In acknowledging the decision by NEC to reconvene the PGC on Wednesday 05thDecember 2012, we call on the NEC of the ANC to not only take over the process of the PGC, but take over the ANC in the Province.
