JOINT STATEMENT OF YCLSA [Ufasimba] EPHRAIM MOGALE DISTRICT EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE AND SASCO NKANGALA REGIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE HELD ON THE 3RD OF MARCH 2013 AT CN MAHLANGU FET COLLEGE
The YCLSA DEC and SASCO REC met in a bilateral meeting to discuss several issues of organizational and political importance and relations that affect the two organizations in the district which by extension emanates from our congress resolutions. ALIGNMENT OF PROGRAMMES We agreed that building and strengthening of SASCO shall also be the task of YCLSA in all the campuses through the alignment of programmes and running them jointly and make sure that we capacitate our members politically. The SASCO Regional Executive Committee also committed itself that it shall work closely with YCLSA even in the communities where they come from subscribing from the principle that "they are members of the community before they are students" and build strong YCLSA branches. ESTABLISHMENT AND RELAUNCH OF YCLSA CAMPUS-BASED BRANCHES We agreed that YCLSA will establish and re-launch campus-based branches and SASCO committed itself that it will assist the YCLSA in launching them and moving forward we will make sure that no structure of the YCLSA in those campuses shall contest for SRC elections and should only happen through the SASCO umbrella. The meeting noted and congratulated the CN Mahlangu YCLSA branch for being exemplary to that effect because since it was launched they never contradicted their role in their campuses but they struggle side by side with SASCO branch with an understanding that institutions of higher learning is the terrain of SASCO as our ally. We agreed to work together and even run similar programmes like fighting crime and the awareness on drug abuse(Nyaope) and alcohol abuse both in our communities and in the institutions of higher learning and teaching we also agreed to engage Municipalities youth offices in this programmes. STRENGHTENING OF PYA STRUCTURES We agreed to work very closely in building and strengthening of other PYA components and especially the ANCYL as its going to its regional congress very soon. We agreed that we need a selfless leadership which will be free of corruption and not be preoccupied with tenders and government positions, and further need the leadership which will drive the youth developmental trajectory holistically and contribute in resolving triple crises facing our youth. We further agreed that we need ideologically and revolutionary grounded leadership so, in our assessment the following comrades in their own rights as ANCYL members do possess such leadership character we are yearning for in this region: 1. Cde Tsekiso Machike 2. Cde Tinyiko Ntini 3. Cde Sipho Mahlangu 4. Cde Sam Masango. We will therefore lobby ANCYL branches and delegates to unashamedly nominate this comrades. We wish the ANCYL a successful congress. AND WISH THAT IT SHALL ELECT LEADERS WHICH CARRY THE VISION CHARECTER OF THE ANCYL FORWARD. AMANDLA!!!!
