*YCLSA mourns the passing away of Lesego Motsepe* The Young Communist League of South Africa [uFasimba] mourns the passing away of Lesego Motsepe. Lesego served as an inspiration to people living with the HIV virus. She went public with her status in order to help others who are either infected or affected by the virus. She did this after she suffered both rejection and antipathy from those who knew about her status. As the YCLSA we call on all South Africans especially young people to take a leaf out of Lesego’s book. Young people are encouraged to get tested and to know their status. We further encourage young people to abstain, condomise and be faithful to one partner. Lesego’s death comes when multinational pharmaceutical companies are colluding to frustrate South Africa’s approval of the Draft Policy on Intellectual Property legislation. We agree with the Minister of Health that this tantamount to genocide. Our country is currently being ravaged by the HIV/AIDS virus, cancer, diabetes, tuberculoses and other chronic ailments. So for these companies to be involved in such gruesome acts is proof that capitalism does not care about the lives of the working class and the poor. We send our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and all South Africans who loved her Character Lettie on the soapie Isidingo.
