Message from President Zuma

On the Occasion of the Chinese New Year

President Jacob Zuma has sent warm wishes to the Chinese community in South
Africa as they prepare to celebrate the Chinese New Year, the Year of the
Horse, tomorrow, 31 January.

The Horse is an auspicious symbol in China, heralding a year that looks
forward to action, speed, achievement and the realizing of goals.

"The relations between South Africa and China have grown from strength to
strength, thus together we have an important duty to set goals for our
relations in the year ahead. I would therefore urge and encourage the South
African Chinese community that increased job creation be one such goal we
can set ourselves to achieve this coming year," said President Zuma.

President Zuma wished the community well as they celebrate the start of the
New Year.
