ANC Statement, 26 May 2014 Appointment of the ANC Spokesperson The African National Congress has appointed Zizi Goodenough Kodwa as the new National Spokesperson following the redeployment of Comrade Jackson Mthembu to the National Assembly. Comrade Zizi Kodwa who had been sworn in as a Member of Parliament resigned today so that he can assume his new responsibility from today. Comrade Zizi Kodwa brings with him valuable experience as a communicator who rose in the ranks of the ANC from the ANCYL, where he was an NEC member and spokesperson. He later joined President Zuma as a Communications Advisor. In Mangaung he was elected to the NEC of the ANC and deployed to the ANC Subcommittee of Communication. In the run up to elections, he was successfully nominated to the ANC list and duly sworn in as a Member of Parliament. The ANC is confident that his acquired knowledge and application of communication skills will assist the ANC in its engagement with its stakeholders who are the public, the media and civil society.
