KZN SADTU refutes cash for posts allegations SABC, Johannesburg, 4 June 2014 South African Democratic Teachers Union (SADTU) in KwaZulu-Natal has denied any knowledge of the alleged cash for posts scandal in the province. During a media briefing, the union leadership has described reports on the alleged corruption as lies. SADTU's provincial secretary, Mbuyiseni Mathonsi, says they will co-operate fully with the the Department of Basic Education's inquiry into the alleged scam across the country. Mathonsi says one of their members Nkosinathi Zondi died fighting for the union's campaign against corruption in the Department of Education in the Ugu District. "We are going to cooperate fully with any form of investigation including the high office that people talk about. But what we are not going to accept is to allow people dragging our names and the names of our leaders in the mud. "Nkosinathi Zondi who had been murdered and they stripped him of SADTU colours. They decide to call him a whistle blower and they are saying he was blowing whistle against SADTU on corruption. This person died fighting a SADTU war against corruption in department in the Ugu district," explains Mathonsi.
