*“NUMSA Deputy National secretary Karl Cloete continues to peddle lie”.*
I have noted the content and spirit of your editorial; *“Former Leaders out to Sabotage us-NUMSA"**(**Sowetan Page 4, 5th June 2014)* with great disgust and graving concern. The editorial is not only misleading and polarising but is based on a misinterpretation of your facts while being out of context about what you say about your Preliminary investigations. Neither I nor anyone you may have mentioned want to liquidate Numsa. In your editorial you accuse myself by saying “I’m aware that Mmusi Serobatse-former Numsa Youth Desk Coordinator, and Alex Mashilo-former OCCB HOD are now playing some trade in the South African Communist Party Head Office and played a critical role in the Benoni Meeting to liquidate Numsa”. I’m an independent person who doesn’t have constituency to report to, I’m not accountable to neither yourself nor Numsa. Based on the shared history that you mentioned that I’m the former employee of NUMSA doesn’t constitute the fact that I cannot express my views of what the print media is saying about Numsa and yourself in this case. Just yesterday Sowetan further exposed how business unionism appears, it warned us that money is power and alerted us that Numsa is buying affiliates support. Are you saying that the people whom you accuse are the one who leaked that info to Sowetan? As you have just said they are the former, which means I’m are far from Numsa BUSINESS. In the same article you said “it was a common course in Cosatu for affiliates to financially support each other”. Karl Cloete you went further by accusing former Numsa president Cedric Gina of being behind a campaign to discredit Numsa leadership. This is nothing but a propaganda by Numsa and those who felt shake-ned by the accusation by Sowetan. Sowetan confirmed to the nation that on the 15th October 2013 the Communication Workers Union General Secretary Thabo Mogalane acknowledge receipt of money from Numsa. *We hereby acknowledge receipt of a sum of R110000,00 (One Hundred and Ten Thousand Rands) intended to better our standing at COSATU in response to our request for assistance in this regard.* This is an indication that Numsa is using money to gain support from other affiliates to fight Cosatu. If you may recall Karl, the last time I was not in good terms with Cedric Gina and Alex Mashilo due to political differences, don’t let your guilty conscience confuse you conclusions on who attended the Benoni meeting. I will continue to distance myself from this Numsa “Business Unionism and longstanding partner” debacle and thesis. Best Regards Mmusi Serobatse -- -- You are subscribed. This footer can help you.
