The Presidency, Media Statement, 22 June 2014 President Zuma to lead SA delegation to AU Summit in Equatorial Guinea President Jacob Zuma will lead the South African delegation to the 23rd Ordinary Session of the African Union Assembly (AU Summit), scheduled for 25-27 June 2014 in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. The theme of Summit is "2014 Year of Agriculture and Food Security in Africa, Marking the 10th Anniversary of Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme". Agriculture has great potential to enable sustainable development, food security and job creation in Africa. It is expected that the Summit will consider amongst others the status of peace and security in Africa, the implementation of NEPAD projects, the African Peer Review Mechanism, the African Common Position on the Post-2015 Development Agenda as well as the report of the Committee of African Heads of States and Government on Climate Change. The AU Summit will also deliberate on the finalisation of the Agenda 2063 Continental Framework, as part of the vision of Africa in the next 50 years. President Zuma will be accompanied Ms Maite Nkoana-Mashabane (Minister of International Relations and Cooperation), Ms Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula (Minister of Defence and Military Veterans), Mr Collins Chabane (Minister of Public Service and Administration), Mr David Mahlobo (Minister of State Security), Mr Jeff Radebe (Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Performance Monitoring and Evaluation), Mr Senzeni Zokwana (Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries), as well as Ms Ayanda Dlodlo (Deputy Minister of Public Service and Administration). Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa will act as President of the Republic during the President's absence.
