ANC Media Alert, 16 July 2014 ANC Launches Imvuselelo Campaign Following a successful 2014 General Elections Campaign and in preparation for the mid-term National General Council to be held in June 2015, the African National Congress will be launching the Imvuselelo Campaign. Imvuselelo seeks to firstly thank South Africans for the overwhelming mandate bestowed upon the ANC to govern for another 5 year term and to entrench continuous and dynamic contact with the masses of our people. The Imvuselelo campaign is a mass-based campaign that will be implemented in different phases by all structures of the African National Congress and will have as its primary objectives: - Focused and sustained membership recruitment for the quantitive growth of the organisation - Enhancing the quality of membership through programmes targeted at raising political consciousness and ideological depth - Building strong and vibrant ANC structures at grassroots level able to provide leadership to government and society The President of the African National Congress, Comrade Jacob Zuma, will speak on behalf of the National Executive Committee of the ANC at launch the Imvuselelo campaign at a Mass Rally in the Free State Province on Sunday 20th July 2014. As part of the launch, the President will lead the recital of the ANC Members' Oath. The commitment to this practice, intended to become custom before the start of any ANC gathering, is aimed at reigniting amongst our ranks the spirit of selflessness, volunteerism as well as building servant leadership and political consciousness.
