Thuli must stop attacking ANC Megan Ellis, iAfrica.com, Johannesburg, 1 September 2014 The SA Democratic Teachers' Union (SADTU) has told Public Protector Thuli Madonsela that she must stop attacking the ANC. "The actions of advocate Thuli Madonsela are clear systematic signs planned to create anarchy and divisions within our society and the ANC in particular," the union's national executive committee said according to SAPA. "We have continued to observe leakages coming from her office including calling press conferences to engage with government when guidelines are clear as to where she needs to account to." The ANC and the public protector seemed to be in a war of words last week after a letter from Madonsela to President Jacob Zuma was leaked to the media. The letter warned Zuma against creating a culture of impunity. Madonsela said an ANC politician was responsible for the leak but would not name them. SADTU and members of the ruling party have called for the name to be revealed. However Madonsela held a press conference last week urging an end to mudslinging between her office and the ANC. Meanwhile COSATU general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi has come out in support of Madonsela. According to a report by the Sunday Times, Vavi called the criticism of the public protector "disgusting". "The public protector has to be respected," he said according to the newspaper. From: http://news.iafrica.com/sa/957809.html -- -- You are subscribed. This footer can help you.
