Rustenburg Sub District Statement after its 1st Congress Branches of the South African Communist Party in Moses Kotane district, North West Province converged on the 12 October 2014 in terms of the SACP Constitution as amended at the 13th national congress in July 2012 to establish the 1st sub-district structure in Rustenburg. All voting district based branches of the SACP and units within the Rustenburg jurisdiction were represented. The congress acknowledged that: - The status of Rustenburg local municipality`s governance needs serious attention and probably urgent intervention; - Fighting corruption need to be uprooted at all costs within the alliance in order to improve service delivery; and - Branches must lead the local government election campaign through campaigns. Based on the above mentioned issues, delegates resolved that: - The political work need to be intensified at branch levels; - Joint political programme that includes the 2016 local government elections programme of the alliance must be developed at the sub-district level with the ultimate goal of ensuring that ANC remains in power to continue with the good work of providing basic services to the working class; - Branches must monitor service delivery at their ward levels and provide constructive political intervention; and - Since the allegations of maladministration and corruption have been raised in our local municipality, the newly identified leadership must work tirelessly with the political leadership of the institution to combat that counter revolutionary tendency that seeks to undermine the achievements of the alliance since 1994. Branches identified the following comrades to serve on the sub-district Structure: Secretary: Cde Abbey Molokoane Chairperson: Cde Thabo Kobe Treasurer: Cde Kedisaletse Motlhakoe Deputy Secretary: Cde Kagiso Morapedi Deputy Chairperson: Cde David Moleme Additional member: Cde Lerato Mosiane Issued by: Rustenburg Sub-District Secretary Cde Abbey Molokoane, 072 264 5632 -- -- You are subscribed.
