SACP 7th Moses Mabhida Provincial Congress

The SACP will be holding its 7th Moses Mabhida (KZN) Provincial Congress
this week. The congress will be held under the theme: Protect, defend and
advance the NDR for the second phase of radical economic transformation.

This important congress offers the SACP in the province the opportunity to
evaluate and assess its performance as a vanguard party of the working class
and socialism, the strides it has made in this regard and reflect on the
challenges of the last three years and those that lie ahead. The congress
will analyse the balance of forces and engage on both the strategic and
tactical considerations in the struggle to advance, deepen and defend the
National Democratic Revolution as our direct route to Socialism.

This congress will be dedicated to the memory of our late General Secretary
and Chairperson of our Party Comrade Joe Slovo, and also a revered leader of
the African National Congress. Congress will therefore evaluate global
balance of forces taking its cue from Slovo's historic pamphlet "Has
Socialism Failed?" Our political report will be detailed on these questions
and draw on Slovo's insightful work 'The South African Working Class and the
National Democratic Revolution' including in its analysis of the challenges
facing organised workers.

The Congress will elect new leadership to take the work of the Party forward
to greater heights.

The congress will be held as follows:

. Date: 6 - 9 January 2015

. Venue: Esayidi TVET College, uMzimkhulu Campus, R66 Kokstad Route,
Umzimkulu

The media is invited to attend and cover this august event.
