The offer that we got as municipality is a just mediocrity, but we are told
it's majority of our members who agreed to this facilitator s proposal.

It seems workers no longer have stamina to strike, workers are demoralised
so this is a very dangerous situation

I myself at our municipality was only one against the report on the three
main factors

Multi year agreement renders union useless, the whole three years most time
they will sit at the laurels, busy with petty hr and scm issues

The cpi plus 1 percentage is not good at all, we get this dummy 7% this
year next year cpi stand at 4.5, so we will get 5% increment, isn't that
downgrading, because wishing for more than 7 percent is to wish for high
inflation, and we know our reserve bank is working hard

On housing allowance, we know that union advocate for workers equity, so
how on earth will one accept offer that is not even? Those workers who
qualifies for housing and are earning more will get R700 and those who
cannot afford it,and are earning less are going to get R350, will they ever
afford it? So in essence they are indirectly advocating for rich get
richer?

Couldn't our beloved union just look for single year 7% agreement? Plus
R1000 housing, just like our friends in the public sector? our water
boards salaries are very good
