Morning Star.png Turkey Won't Talk to Kurds - Premier The Morning Star, London, 6 February 2016 Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu vowed yesterday not to negotiate with the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) until the group disarms. Some 200 civilians have died in Ankara's crackdown on Kurdish areas since July. Last week, video footage emerged of Turkish forces firing on unarmed civilians - and wounding the cameraman - in the city of Cizre. Mr Davutoglu claimed that consultations would be held with residents to end the bloodshed, but "those holding arms will not be accepted as interlocutors." Bombs, fists Meanwhile Turkish jets bombed the Iraqi village of Dohuk, targeting PKK forces. On Thursday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was met with protests by Kurds on a visit to Ecuador. Ecuadorian MP Diego Vintimilla had his nose broken by one of Mr Erdogan's security guards at the IAEN University. Group of Communities in Kurdistan representative Giran Ozcan said Mr Erdogan's support for Islamic State (Isis) had led to hundreds of thousands of deaths in Syria.
