Sowetan Newest.jpg SACP slams Guptas, DA, EFF, Vavi, Jim and a judge TMG Digital, Sowetan, Johannesburg, 22 Mar 2016 The SA Communist Party and its youth wing slammed the Guptas, the Democratic Alliance, the EFF, the "Premier League", the judge who granted Janusz Walus parole, as well as former Cosatu general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi and NUMSA boss Irvin Jim. The SACP in Gauteng held a meeting with the Young Communist League on Sunday, and released a statement of their deliberations on Monday. The party announced on Monday that the Guptas were part of "a committee for managing the common affairs of the whole bourgeoisie". "We agreed that attempts to sway the modern state to serve the exclusive interests of monopoly capital is certainly historic and does not apply exclusively to the Gupta family," said the statement. The party said that there were other forces that attempted to hold sway over arms of the state, and that "the lumpen Gupta dynasty with oligarchic tendencies epitomises and personifies this tendency in its renewed form". "The meeting noted that 'Guptayites, especially the so-called Premier League' will be muted to protect their privileges and benefits that fall as mere crumbs from the table of the super profits and patronage of this dynasty." The party accused the DA of being captured by the Guptas, as the party had received a donation from the Guptas in 2009. It quoted a letter of thanks to the Guptas written by former DA leader Helen Zille: "Your financial contribution helped us to achieve our three key objectives in the recent election: keeping the ANC below a two-thirds majority, significantly consolidating our position as the official opposition in Parliament, and winning an outright majority in the Western Cape." It also accused the EFF of being captured by corporates, of taking money from Exxaro, which it said had lost a contract to the Guptas, and said that Exxaro was using the EFF to fight its battles. "It is a well known fact that the EFF has received funding and donations from Exxaro dating back to the flight that was used by (Julius) Malema to Kwazulu-Natal. It is also an irrefutable fact that Exxaro lost a 40 year coal supply contract with Eskom." "The anti-Gupta ranting of the EFF are merely the effects of the EFF co-opted to fight factional battles of one bourgeoisie against another faction that provide desperately needed funding for its activities." It also slammed Judge Nicoline Janse van Niewenhuizen who ruled that the killer of SACP leader Chris Hani, Janusz Waluz, would be released on parole. The party said it would stage a march on April 1 to protest against the ruling. It also accused Zwelinzima Vavi and Irwin Jim of attempting to "split Cosatu and deliver it to the bourgeoisie in the Automotive sector", and the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (AMCU) of weakening the National Union of Mineworkers. It said it noted "similar divisive tendencies" in other unions, including NEHAWU, SAMWU and SATAWU. It said it would support the ANC in the upcoming elections.
