South African Communist Party Mpumalanga Province, 20 March 2016 Media Statement: Provincial Executive Committee Statement "Unite the working class to advance and defend the National Democratic Revolution!" The SACP in Mpumalanga province convened its 21st ordinary plenary session on Sunday, 20 March 2016 at Mbombela. The meeting received all three reports presented by Provincial Secretary, Treasurer and 2nd Deputy Provincial Secretary and 1st Deputy Provincial Secretary presented the Party's election strategy to strengthen the electioneering of the liberation movement towards the local government elections. It further received a political input from Central Committee Member, comrade Reneva Fourie who is the convener of deployees in the province. The meeting congratulated Ntandoyenkosi Kunene from Mkhondo Sub-district for being crowned Miss South Africa 2016. Janus Waluz must rot in jail: The Party noted with disappointment the court decision to order the release of Janus Walus who never ever showed remorse or willingness to tell the truth on who send him to kill our former General Secretary, comrade Chris Hani. What is worth noting is that these murderers were denied amnesty by the TRC, then why should 22 years into democratic breakthrough which they wanted to abode should such people be pardoned. We hold a core belief that this murderer was given a life sentence and it should remain as such. Judiciary may not have powers above the other arm of the state [executive], in this regard the judge failed to think straight instead wanted to dictate how comrade Limpho Hani must feel. In the same note, we dismiss any suggestion that Janus waluz must be deported back to the country of his birth. If he cannot tell the truth then he must just rot in jail because that's where he belong. The NDR under siege: Combat Corporate Capture of the Movement and the State: The Party in the province has been outspoken against Lumpenism that threatens the national democratic revolution. The movement is under siege as noted by the ANC's National General Council discussion document about corporate capture. There is symbiotic relations between state patronage and institutionalised factionalism. Corporate capture is growing and rampant nearly in all spheres of government and structures of the movement. The recent revelations about the influence of the Gupta family in the state and towards other individuals is a cause for concern. Those amongst the brothers who are members of the ANC, should be brought to book for bringing the name of the organisation into disrepute especially towards such tough local government elections. We support the call for the commission of enquiry and the integrity committee to investigate the level of influence this untraceable family in our liberation struggle have in the state. Lumpen Tenderpreneurs never care about the revolution, their obsession is looting state resources. It is not a problem for individuals to have relations with either business people or families however once the relations threatens our revolution and the unity of our movement, we have a problem. In this regard, we expect the State President, comrade Jacob Zuma who is also the ANC President to be in the forefront to denounce and combat any attempt by this family to run our government. This recent revelations should make us to ponder on who actually feeds this emerging capitalist with information if indeed they are not influencing any appointment in the state or its entities? The working class is no longer the primary motive force of the revolution as the attempts to establish a new alliance with emerging capital whilst managing 'established capital' by the liberation movement. We believe the ANC is still committed to the ideals, principles and values it stands for, there are just few elites captured and inspired by former apartheid and STRATCOM agents. The time is now for the movement to cleanse itself to regain its moral authority in society and isolate all wrong elements who are weakening this glorious movement. We must unite as the working class to fight against juniorisation of our movement and government. State of the alliance: The PEC noted with dismay the deteriorating alliance relations across the country, worse in Mpumalanga. There attempts to liquidate and capture the Party in the province has always hit a solid rock. We are worried with continuous postponements of the provincial alliance summit which must try to remedy some of the challenges faced by the left from the anti-communist offensive. The national secretariat tried several times to mandate the sitting however with no success due to the ANC in the province controlled by an individual. The tactical delay to release the KaNyamazane report compiled by ANC veterans will affect the relations, whilst we must focus on the forthcoming elections. We hope the national leadership will swiftly intervene in the province just like in any province where they never hesitated. Local Government Elections: The meeting dealt with and adopted an independent yet integrated election programme that will be complementary to the overall election programme of the ANC headed alliance. We remain confident that the aspirations of the majority of our people can only be achieved under the government of the liberation alliance. Our programme will focus on the hotspots, workers, youth and students noting that majority of voters will be young people. Working closely with our league and entire mass democratic movement, we will ensure a decisive electoral victory for the liberation movement in the forthcoming local government elections. We still reiterate the Central Committee decision that we will not be able to support any ANC imposed candidates against the wishes of the community especially when is in violation of the ANC's guidelines in these processes. We will not allow isolation of left cadres on these processes just because they are members of SACP or COSATU. We call on all workers, youth and any unregistered person to make use of the final voter registration weekend to register to vote for the ANC in the forthcoming elections. The party rejects with contempt the attempt to qualify the right to vote( for which many fought and died for) by coming up with technical processes which seeks to exclude the majority of poor people living in unproclaimed areas.
