SA Coat of Arms 4.jpg Media Statement, 5 April 2016 President Zuma Launches E-Channel Project of the Department of Home Affairs President Jacob Zuma will on Thursday, 07 April 2016, officially launch the eChannel Pilot Project of the Department of Home Affairs in Midrand, Johannesburg. The Department of Home Affairs has collaborated with four major banks to introduce an online application platform for Smart ID cards and passports. In this regard, ABSA, FNB, Nedbank and Standard Bank will provide space for the Department of Home Affairs kiosks inside banks where clients will walk in to submit their fingerprints and pictures, having made appointments and payments online.
