ANCWL2.jpg Media Statement, 4 July 2016 ANC Women's League Takes a Stand on the Killings of Emerging Leaders of Women The ANC Women's League condemns the brutal and senseless killings of the Newcastle Ward Councillor, Thembi Mbongwa and more than eleven (11) Councillors and candidates that have taken place in the past three months at the Kwazulu Natal province. It is very concerning and worrisome to witness the hand of division that boldly manifests itself to destroy the selfless sacrifice; and struggle that the African National Congress seeks day and night working towards achieving oneness and cohesion. The ANC Women's League remains unwavering with its course to clasp the fruits of the national democratic revolution. We will not allow seedless mechanisms of terror and fear to overcome the victorious movement of the African National Congress. We are certain that a day will arise when we witness a brethren that will not be blinded by the evil deeds of the system that has caused so much damage and division in executing the work of the ANC; and that we will be united to reach the true course for freedom, enshrined in the freedom charter of 1955. We sternly warn those who choose to still be swallowed by the corrupt system that has degraded our people of their rights, to reconsider their ill informed decisions and whom they truly hurt. We will not blink until they face the blazing guns of justice, more especially when a woman is brutally gunned down in front of her loved ones. We will not shy away whilst our women who are emerging leaders, continue to be defaced from this earth like meaningless objects. It is high time that women lead and take on a true course for the revolution. We urge our communities to speak on the truth and alert those who enforce the law and not be afraid to do what is consciously right for the rest of the community as well as this country. This country and its ruling party is under heavy attacks from surrounding countries and has been infiltrated by bloodsuckers who will not rest until we have destroyed each other to death. Now is the time for our people to seek the truth and not allow mediums of deceit to disengage them from what is consciously a human right. May the loved ones of the bereaved be granted solace and peace during their time of sorrow.
