1) they're not currently case sensitive
2) we use dropmenus because you can only select one at a time. I suppose
renaming multple tags into the same item should be ok.
3) this is a good point

I wish it were possible to trap double-clicking the tag in the main UI
and just renaming it was easily possible in javascript. I expect that
normal users might hate this, though.

I seem to recall not allowing multiple tag renames because it didn't
seem clear if i should have a UI that turns appearances of x AND y AND z
into the new tags, or if it should be x OR y OR z ...

Re: please please enlighten me (faq?))

That's a lot to take in. I'll re-read it in morning if I have a
chance.

But while I'm here a couple of things that out-the-box seem
conspicuously absent or a bit wrong to a n00b like me. I am no
developer but I'll mention them anyway.

        1) Ability to lowercase/uppercase all your tags? (superfluous
maybe)
        2) Rename/delete tags function - why not use checkboxes instead
of
dropmenus's? (I can imagine why this could be bad for page load
or
        generating the code though)
        3) *if* checkboxes were possible, or alternatively using the
same
structure as the "bundle" feature displays, I see no reason why
a
rename function shouldn't be applicable to a number of tags all
at once?
Doing this one-by-one via the dropmenu for all
variations/subfolders
you might imported have with the current method seems very
clunky &
        slow to me.

thanks for the reply about the main question though, thought I
was
going nuts. I'll give it a try, cheers!
