Just for clarification: I thought YDL was based on RH/Fedora. Is that wrong? If it's correct, then how is YDL more than just a port?

Poorly.

Its just an x86 system, ported. I last used it on an OldWorld machine
some time ago, and its only concession to being on PPC was pbbuttonsd
for laptop hotkey support. No mouse emulation out of the box, etc.

YDL is designed to run on the Macintosh, Mandrake is designed for x86.

I suspect that the general consensus on this list will be in favor of
YDL, but what about Mandrake? I have it on one of my desktops, and I
like it. In your opinion, how does its PPC offering compare to YDL?
Thanks for any input.
