As someone who has fought with open JVM's for years on my other OS (BeOS), I can tell you that you -NEED- Sun's JVM. Even GCJ in GCC4 barely cuts it, and when its YDL moving to GCC4?
OpenOffice2 doesn't support Kaffe. I doubt Eclipse does, or NetBeans. Or any major Java app, for that matter. OpenOffice 2.x, which is a wonderful application, will depend on GCC4's GCJ or Sun Java to run on YDL4. Thats a major app to lose out on due to a lack of Java.
