I use OpenOffice on Windows at work (on my workstation, work laptop is
YDL'ed iBook) - Windows doesn't exclude you from using OSS software,
or even non-Microsoft software.

Much as I dislike it happening, Java is becoming more and more
important in the world beyond the browser, and for that we need Sun's
Java. gcj/kaffe/etc may be noble attempts to clone it, but they're
nowhere close, and often require app modification (gcj), rather than
actually embodying write once, run anywhere.

My cellphone has better Java than Kaffe had last time I used it
