Bill might be onto something here. I remember seeing some syntax
errors in the kernels and some drivers awhile back -- easily corrected
by anyone familiar enough with C syntax. Perhaps the problem the
fellow is reporting can be corrected after all with Bill's approach?

Define indefinitely? YDL 3.0 used to stall awhile on hardware
probing. Once the new hardware was discovered the problem went away.
Before you go to sleep next time turn on YDL and see if it resolves
itslef on bootup before you wake up.

4.0.1 is hanging indefinitely on "hardware probing"...
