1. How often do you use yi? * Tried it once 2. What are the issues preventing you to use Yi more? I was a vim user. But liked the idea and the project of Yi. I tried fiddling with the Key Maps etc.. and got some success. Generally I use Matlab's own editor, owing to the work. or gvim/ textpad or notepad++. i spend most dev time on windows. So do not get a chance to use Yi for the fun factor.
3. Do you consider contributing code to Yi? If so what would help to get you started? Yes!! But i do not have a Haskell setup any more. I had a week of free time earlier this year, and figured i could gear up and start contributing. I made some small functions, but nothing interesting, the code has changed a lot since:). and my free time has vanished more:( . what helped me get started in the first place was some one's web page where they had a really simple, idiot proof instructions on how to install and run Yi. Here is the link http://www.nobugs.org/developer/yi/ I think such really simple and easy to follow instructions set the bar low enough that people with limited time/exposure to Haskell, can still jump in and start tinkering their local version. My suggestions: pictorial representation of the Architecture + A simple and new "to Haskell" bie friendly doc and explanation of the different monads and a how to on writing your own function " like the hello world or code commenting functions in the above link. Over all i think Yi is already most of the way there. Congratulations on a good well run and enticing project!! and Thanks too!!
