As most of the list users are aware, using Yojimbo for very large PDF
files, and numerous PDF files is just not the right tool. I am
looking into an app that will help me organize all my PDF's, which
are mostly manuals for lots of different things. Since they include
graphics, they can be quite large. I am currently trialing iView
Media Pro <http://www.iview-multimedia.com/>, but since it has been
taken over by Microsoft, I am doubting the future of the program for
the Mac. It also does not seem to have a lot of drag and drop
options, like Yojimbo.
Does anyone have a good recommendation for a replacement for Yojimbo
for this task? I do not need to have .mac syncing, since my catalog
will be huge, and go over the idisk limit. It will easily get into
several gigabytes in size. I also don't need the program to store
the PDF's inside the app or a db. I just need the tagging features,
and some kind of searching features, so I can quickly find the
correct document.
Having an app that works and acts like Yojimbo, minus the .mac
syncing would be great. Is there anything out there like that,
designed for a large PDF collection? I also have a few that are Word
docs, but I generally convert them to PDF anyway, so not having .doc
support is not a deal breaker.
Thanks for any help.
Best Regards,
Bruce
