I'm not an expert but I used to have trouble with .mac sync until OS x 10.4.9 came along and it cured all my sync problems. Are you on the latest version?

I have also found that if there's a sync failure it's best not to tinker. The problem usually sorts itself out within a few days. The most usual problem is a time out - which is a failure of the .mac servers. I think other applications move relatively small amounts of data while Yojimbo is more demanding - especially if you have added a number of new entries.

I also notice that you're not running the latest version of Yojimbo - it's curently 1.4.2

Hope this helps

Subject: Syncing, yet again

I am tying to get YJ (1.4.1) to sync between multiple machines, and like a lot of people, am getting really frustrated. I have tried both .Mac and SyncTogether, and can't ever get a successful sync with either one. I have followed the many recipes published in this list over the past year or so, and none of them ever seem to work. I have reset sync history in both .Mac and SyncTogether and it makes no difference. I have even tried to use Syncrospector to push the truth from one machine and pull it from the other, and nothing seems to make any difference.

One clue I uncovered today is that Syncrospector reports the Sync State for the Yojimbo client as Canceled, even though I know I didn't cancel it. I scanned the status of some other clients, and they all report a status of Success on the same sync runs. This leads me to suspect that Yojimbo itself, not .Mac or Sync Services, may be doing something wrong. I am at my knowledge limit here. Since I have not seen any earlier reports of this factoid, has anyone else who is having trouble looked into this? Anyone at BB have any thoughts on it?

Thanks

JEH
