sounds like a hard drive-problem that accidentally occurred when you did the search with Yojimbo

Are you sure it isn't just sheer user stupidity? Perhaps a user who had a drive crash before, and, though while he's learned his lesson now and makes regular backups, is paranoid of any unusual sound coming from his machine? Perhaps someone who is too clueless to notice that his iSight was plugged in to the Firewire port on reboot, and the little scratch sound was coming from that?

That's my theory and I'm sticking to it. Sheer unadulterated user stupidity.
