it must be noted however that the menu.lst file itself isnt corrupted, i've proven this by loading it using grub's configfile parameter and it loads correctly, it also viewed the file and it was intact. however the events that follow when a selection is made will lead you to think that the menu.lst file is corrupted. the only sure way i've gotten the upgrade to work with grub is by making sure that yoper isnt on the boot partition and loading grub through another distro.
