Hi All,

Its been a long time since Yoper people got into development and the date to progress YIS Pre Installation module is just 3 days left. The main reason for Yoper Team to be slow in projects is lack of resources.I had approached GeekLogix Sollutions for support for Yoper Projects and also funds if possible. This happened some 4 months ago.

One month back, i received a reply from Geeklogix that they can host a server for us and based on network traffic, they may also increase the storage. They also suggested me, joining their BOSE program which is similar to Google Summer Code Contest. After discussing with Tobias, myself and Tobias decided to apply Yoper for BOSE.

We proposed 3 projects (http://www.lab4geeks.com/index.php/BOSE_Program),

1) Yoper Installer - YIS
2) Yoper Network Tool - YNT
3) Yoper Device Configuration - YDC

We did get 1 resource allocated each for the YIS and YDC projects and unfortunately,we didnt get any resource for YNT, as the candidate who had applied didnt have the essential skillset for the project. So i had to reject him.

The new joinee in YIS is Mr.Rajagopal Natrajan who was present in our last meet and for YDC we have Mr.Sainudheen.Mr.Sainudheen would join Yoper Team from June first week as he is in the middle of his University exams.

This step was not disclosed for a long time since we were not sure whether we would really get support and now this seems to be a first step towards getting good resources.

Once this step proves to be a success, we could easily apply for next Google Summer of Code too.

Tomorrow (May 13th), i am presenting a Presentation at Chennai LUG regarding Yoper and i am expecting still few people to join in our projects.

As Yoper getting popular again , i think we have to be more organised and not keep ourselves silent as how it has been for last few weeks. It was clear, everybody were busy with their official work, even i was. However, as from May 15th, we are starting our Projects, we should be organised, and i would also like to have a meeting of that current project teams to meet once in 2 weeks in IRC to discuss regaring the proceedings.

This mail was intended to keep the developers updated regarding how Yoper is proceeding.

Thank You.
