Hi,

in preparation for the next installer I'd really like to see sort of a
checklist, where we can see what's left to be done. This is most
likely a combination of MUST HAVE / FIX BUG $### - 999 and so on.

I hope somebody volunteers to do this in the wiki. I just got
remembered of the dialup support in the next release, which I was
about to forget again. So more brains in this, means less errors in
the release ;) .

Thought of addressing this since Tobias told me that we would be releasing  an iso soon. Thanks Tobias.

Ok, my views on what need to be added in the next release is as follows,

1) Bootloader issue should be fixed (hope grub will be there, i found tough time with lilo and i nearly didnt install the bootloader and used other distro bootloaders to start yoper, and also lilo takes atleast 30 seconds to start booting yoper, till then it says it does bios check!)

2) When yoper is upgraded using smart, urwfonts are not installed by default and we were getting square boxes, that should be fixed.

3) gtk-qt-engine should be fixed

4) While starting yoper for installation, we load all the services, and then start the installer, i think we had a small discussion on this already where we can load minimal yoper for starting the installer and installing yoper

5) Network tool to configure static and dhcp connections. At present, eventhough we have etcnet, we are using ifconfig to configure and its not added by default in the startup.

I see the above to be main issues that are on top list and if we can solve the above issues and release a pre-release, we can figure out what are the rest for Titanium Release.

Comments are welcome....

cheers
