Whether in KDE, Gnome or XFCE, a mail client should be installed by default imho. I would suggest kmail for kde, Evolution for Gnome and probably the same for XFCE - or maybe just install Thunderbird for the whole lot - with the WM standard client being clearly available for those (like myself) who prefer to use the default client (in my case kmail). Thunderbird works regardless of the WM - rather like Firefox does, so is possibly the best option if we are short on cd space.
Evolution is with gnome package and unless we make the gnome-libs and gtk, evolution might have some problems. And the choice of mail clients is not with regard to which IM , its with the Features and compatibility :). Taken that, I think Evolution is the one we have to go for.Just my thoughts from what I have used :) -- Regards, C.C.Chakkaradeep, Novatium Solutions Limited,Chennai. http://chakkaradeep.livejournal.com http://www.yoper.com http://wiki.freespire.org/index.php/Freespire_Community_Board_Home -- "Sometimes it's better not to ask - or to listen - when people tell you something can't be done.
