I've fixed most of this, and also got passing by reference done - no idea why it failed before. However when trying to push the changes, git complained the branch was behind the existing one.
I've no idea why this happened , but have been in this situation before, and when trying to fix it ended up making a major break on the repository's continuity :( So, I've abandoned this branch and created a new one called revisedArgs.
