A bit more on this. Last evening I was contacted by a friend who's just bought one of the new RaspberryPi 5 SBCs running the supplied RaspberryPi OS.
When he complied Yoshimi 2.3.3.1. It failed with this same error. He's a developer himself, so after I pointed to this timeout, he found that he needed to set it to 1500mS for it to boot. After that he had no problems.
