I've a suspicion this has just become a problem. Over on sourceforge bug tracker someone has reported that Yoshimi wont run on ubuntu 25.10 I've asked for more information.
Hi Will, while we're fully aware of the problem (the clock is ticking, I know), this problem can not yet manifest itself with a Debian or Ubuntu package. See here: https://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=libmxml-dev&searchon=names&suite=all§ion=all This shows that all *released* packages on Ubuntu are still at v3.3.1 Ubuntu is a derivative of Debian, so let's have a look at the same query in Debian: https://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=libmxml-dev&searchon=names&suite=all§ion=all Here we see that even Debian-*unstable* has still v3.3.1 The new Version v4.0.4 is only available as package in Experimental. The reason is (as I've explained in one of my previous mails), that Debian has a regular transition process, which looks at packages still blocking the transition. One of them is Yoshimi, and we have talked with Johannes and pointed out that we'll move forward somewhere this year. We could get increasing pressure from people building from source themselves, or on bleeding edge distributions. But that's another story. Unless something really urgent shows up, my plan is to allocate some of my time for this topic somewhere mid November. -- Hermann _______________________________________________ Yoshimi-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/yoshimi-devel
