If you're using Office 2008, you could see if My Day meets your needs. The
default view gives you three calendar events and three tasks, but you can
resize both sections (including completely hiding, so you can just not show
the calendar section), and you can make the whole window as big as you want
it. You can also add new tasks in My Day. It doesn't give you the full
power of the Task view in Entourage (for example, you can't set categories
or give start/due dates for tasks), but it's a nice quick view of your task
list. I tend to use My Day for an at-a-glance view of what I need to work
on and to check off tasks, and then use the Task view in Entourage for
creating tasks (because I almost always want to set categories, projects,
due dates, and reminders on my tasks). Entourage doesn't need to be open
for My Day to work.
