I looked at Office 2008 at a local Apple Store, but had some
difficulty figuring out how My Day integrates. Nobody there was
familiar with Office 2008. I will go back and see if it will meet my
needs. Would think that what I want would be easy for Microsoft to
integrate into Entourage, but guess there are many out there with
their wish list.

I should have been clearer. I want Entourage to always open to the
Task view
even if I just do a file close...... or click on the red "X". The
only part
of Entourage that I use is the Task section (and I use the Task

lot), so if Entourage opens to anything else it requires another

I use Tasks a great deal, I always have Entourage running. Hiding
Entourage
in the Task view also works, but I have to remember to hide it
rather than
close it.

If I quit Entourage while in Task view, Entourage open back up in
Tasks. If
this doesn't work for you, create a new User account in System
Preferences
and see if it works there.
