can't see/find sent emails

We have recently started using Entourage, but all emails sent are not showing anywhere. The sent items folder is empty. The preferences is checked to keep sent emails in the sent items folder. Mail is sending and receiving fine. Where are the sent emails stored?
We are using a POP server, Entourage 2004 version 11.4.0, on a mac OS X version 10.4.11.
